If insecurity were a crime, a lot of dudes would be behind bars, so as far as I know, it isn't. Both he and Roy can do whatever they please and be compensated accordingly. A guy that had Tyson's fame back in his prime I'm sure longs for that spotlight again, the thrill of a big fight, and all of the notoriety that involves. There's nothing wrong with that, it's completely normal and natural.
He isn't facing a young lion, he's facing a guy who's so far past his prime as to be a dinosaur. When Jone's reflexes went, he was a target to be punched out. He always had a weak chin, but his timing and speed were such, it was hard for his opponents to find that sweet spot. In theory, either guy could get hurt, but it's like Tyson has always said, they're in the hurt business, that's the nature of the sport regardless of one's age
We're in the middle of a pandemic and people are bored, a fight like this will probably get more attention than it ordinarily would have. In my mind, it's a smart business move, both guys are going to get some coin.
