Comments Thread For: Oleksandr Usyk Intends To Push Very Hard For WBO Mandatory Shot

Former undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksandr Usyk will push hard for his WBO mandatory crack at the heavyweight title. Last month, Usyk returned to the ring in his second fight in the heavyweight division - and won a very tough twelve round unanimous decision over veteran Derek Chisora.

Yeah well he needs to because I'm telling you against Chisora he looked like a fighter in decline, I think he's got 2 maybe 3 good fights left in him

    Best get a move on

But unless Usyk steps aside, then Joshua will be forced to vacate his WBO title in order to face Fury.

"Fury may fight any time he feels convenient. Usyk has gone through eight months of hard work getting prepared for Derek Chisora.

"Hopefully he will be ready to return in April 2021, and hopefully AJ will be around to comply with WBO mandatory regulations. If not - we will be fighting for the vacant WBO title with a contender appointed by WBO."

Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois or Andy Ruiz for the WBO HW title in 2021. Joshua and Phooey should be stripped and sued for breach of contract.

      Fight or vacate.

This is a bit weird. You would think he would want another decent HW fight to be well prepared for the AJ fight. Not sure what the rush is from his side.

Usyk v Parker would be the fight to make from a boxing purist perspective.

I think it’s becoming more and more likely Joshua faces usyk around April time. With the wilder saga ongoing I just can’t see Joshua fury happening first half of next year.

I really wish wilder and fury would just get on and take on other credible opponents - both have literally only two decent names on their resume (each other, klitschko and Ortiz).

Joshua on the other hand has about 8.

I don’t want to see fury wilder again (yet) - let’s get them both fighting the Joshua, Parker, whyte, povetkin , etc of this world please!!

Beat AJ before he unifies and you get to unify, more big money/legacy fights.

Plus if AJ lost to Fury first, Fury isn't the sort to pay attention to mandos.

Dubois is too green, Joyce will school the guy, let alone Usyk
