I boxed in the Ams so it was different with same day weigh ins. Chavez would cut insane water weight with drugs, then put it all back on in the 24 hours between ring walk. It's why he was so much bigger than everyone and could walk through punches until he fought someone his own size (Fonfara)Comment

This... dude was one of the most egregious weight cutters I ever saw. Kid was tough I guess, but when you got a 10 or 15Lb edge on the night maybe it's hard to read too much into the ability to take punches. When you can't convincingly beat Zbik and are getting outboxed by Andy Lee it's hardly a ringing endorsement of your boxing ability.Comment

And in that Lee fight, as with the Rubio fight there was lots of controversy about his urine test. Chavez came in like a cruiser weight and sugar Hill was sent over to observe the urine test said that there were several people in the room and he reported back to many steward (rip). Rubio was shafted too.Comment

I don't know why posters are complaining as if they cared for any Chavez Jr. opponent. The opponent in the article says they didn't agree with weight. That's his problem too not Chavez Jr. lol. The opponent is acknowledging a flip flop about weight disagreement.Comment

especially two days out not the day before, they didnt even weigh in yet.
other guy says they never had a full agreement, sounds like there was no contract with 2 days before the fight. I think they had second thoughts when they considered the knockout ratio of the guy.
so now Jr has had atleast some kind of fight camp and is fully prepared and fighting some other scrub they found on 1.5 days notice
what a jokeComment
