Ruiz might be a grown man, but he seems and sounds like someone stuck in their teenage years on a mental level a bit. Can't blame the trainer if the fighter doesn't wanna listen and do his part.

5 million new friends. Blame it on the dead presidents. AJ ruined Andy, but not in the ring.

Good post. One could draw parallels between this situation and SRL vs Duran 1.

Andy should have pretended they never won the first fight, ultimately knew a rematch was in the contracts that he would have to fulfill and wait until after he won the SECOND fight before celebrating daily.

I do have to say, the timing of the fight was in no way to favor Andy from a circumstance point of view. The dude like wins the belts overnight, goes balls to wall celebrating like crazy with the new found fame and "friends", and then has a to redo it a few months later. There was no way he was back in the gym training like he was prior to that moment when nobody knew who tf he was.

Let's not forget he probably was booked weekly on different talk shows to talk about how he was able to blast out the Adonis specimen while he looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. It was really all a recipe for him to in no way redo the same performance a few months later.

With me giving him the benefit of the doubt, he's gotta get back to it again. It's like he's back to square 1 with that loss.

We already know this, although Andy Garcia shocked Anthony Joshua, and the boxing world all at the same time. He quickly lost his discipline, focus, mind and ultimately the heavyweight title. He could've retained the title against Joshua, and probably made another successful defense, or two. If he had just had some respect for the title he had just won. He wouldn't have been a long reining champion, but he could've won 2, or 3 more fights. He would've had to be at the top of his game, as it turned out he wasn't, and it wound up costing him Big Time. Now instead of him being the toast of the town, he's the roast of the town. Worst than that I don't think that he'll ever win the heavyweight title of the world again. It wasn't Manny Robles fault that Andy Garcia literally went hog wild. When somebody that young, that immature comes into instant fame, and money, you can't tell them anything. They're the king now, they most know everything, that said they must self implode. That's exactly what happened to Andy Garcia, and not Reynoso, or anyone else can help make him champion again.
