I know he cried about his minimum going down if he had lost to loma but what he didn’t mention was his minimum would go up..... But I doubt it goes up to 5m..... He is in the wrong division and wrong era. He missed the big cash cows, DLH, Mayweather and the soon to retire Pacquiao. He also missed the mid level PPV fighters like Mosley, Trinidad, Vargas, Cotto.

Most fighters nowadays are demanding amounts of money that you would get if you are an A-level PPV seller, when they are really C and D levels. These demands of millions of dollars also assume that everyone else is working for free. Everyone involved in the PPV are working without pay because they want the fighters to make enough money to live a lavish lifestyle.

If Canelo or Joshua demanded a guarantee of $10-20mill, that is no laughing matter, and it would be very plausible due to the revenue they are able to generate, and they will also be able to make everyone involved good money. They are profitable fighters. Fighters who networks and fight handlers would break their backs for because they know these two would fill people’s wallets.

But you have these other fighters with little drawing power asking for money they can’t generate.

Teofimo doesn’t have a Mexican following. He would have to the GGG route as Loeffler and Sanchez coached to sucker fans with devotion to a culture. Lopez would literally have to wear a Mexican flag coming in and he would have to change his character to being a bad guy as did Floyd. Only Canelo and AJ with their dynamics get such paygrades.
