it seemed like it was almost hard not to look good against an opponent like that, the guy was an insurance salesman. i'll reserve my opinion about holy when he takes on a tougher opponent. i will say this, if holyfield has his eye on another title then maskaev is the one to go after.Comment

Holyfield needs to hang it up before A. Tarver becomes obsees again labeling himself as a legend killer.Comment

All I know is watching Evander bounce around and firing combinations really makes me miss him and reminds me how good he was. Too bad he has to get old.Comment

Holyfield need to retire, he ain't nothing more to prove. Yeah he won and his combos looks like he still fast enough because Bates look like a ship moving on the sand.Comment

Since Holyfield was 200 pounds during the weight in, if he move down to cruiserweight, can he become the champ?Last edited by loui_ludwig; 08-18-2006, 11:52 PM.Comment

I believe Holyfield will never be back.
He needs to retire.
He lost to Cris Byrd, James Toney and Larry Donald coming into this fight. His victory over Bates doesn't mean anything. Who is Bates anyway?
Bates is a fighter with 34 fights, 21 wins 11 loses and 1 draw.
Ray Austin K.O.ed this guy in the second round coming into this fight.
