    Ring dimensions

Rewatched famous Vlad vs. Corrie fight and heard (and saw it really looked small) that they were on a sort of "small ring" as commentator said. Ids the ring size, similarily to e.g. soccer field, allowed according to some tollerances ?
I would rather prefer the same ring size and other parameters always the same value as well (perhaps Ali would not be allowed to have loose ropes in his Foreman fight).
    Thoughts ?

It's up to the promoter I believe, along with everything else. As long as both fighters agree to it, I don't see a problem with it.

Although that ring used in Joshua/Ruiz II was comically large.

Yes, it is hard not to agree with sentence in bold. I wonder, however, if e.g. Foreman was informed and agreed to loose ropes or Ruiz to larger ring dimensions.

I believe the Fury v Klitchko ring was 2ft bigger than that too (24ft)

For comparison, Wilder Fury 2s ring was 20ft

            Isn’t it a commission thing?

At least in Nevada I think it’s always a standard 20x20 anyway

I guess some places it could differ at the request of the promoter.

I think Saudi doesn’t have a real commission so that 80x80 ring for AJ v Ruiz 2 was down to the promoters choice

I doubt Foreman knew about the ropes. That was likely just a dirty trick by the Ali camp. Ruiz had signed the rematch clause so he was basically going to get every disadvantage thrown at him.

It’s what I hate about the sport. As fantastic as Floyd was IN the ring, he really ****ed things over for us fans.
