No it wasn’t. But lying seems to be common with people in general. Canelo landed more impressively on Floyd given the speed difference. Difference is Floyd doesn’t engage much and merely counters, exactly what Canelo does now in his career. So tagging back and just staying out of reach makes a fighter’s punch stats accurate. Also Canelo turned it up Rounds 8+. Canelo held his own in a Chessmatch from Rounds 1-3. Even Showtime was talking about... therefore Floyd’s game plan revolved from Rounds 3-7 securely. The rest were all swing, and benefit of doubt goes to the house fighter.

Showtime’s highlights of Floyd uppercutting Canelo in the corner or countering doesn’t sum up the whole fight.
