Dear Crawford: Spence is the A-Side with two titles. Advice from Floyd Mayweather.

This should help you calculate how much money MAX you're entitled to, in order to get the A-Side to agree.

So you figure, if Spence walked away with $8 million from Mikey and probably about $10 million from Porter (PPV PERCENTAGE SPLIT), he's probably around that same number for Danny.

Okay, so let's say $9 million. So Spence gets $18 million.

Crawford's largest guarantee is $4 million. Okay, so by Floyd's calc, that's $8 million.

So they have to pull minimum $26 million, but then you need money to pay networks, staff, crews, promoter(s), venue, media, etc.

So you're tracking around $40 million minimum just to make that fight happen.

At $40 million Crawford thinks he deserves $25-$27 million. Despite him taking home $4 million against Brook.

No. I much prefer Floyd's method to calculate. Give him $8 million, he gets the win, he can now ask for $16 million for his next opponent.

Under the logic that the fighter with more titles should be the A-Side, Canelo should've been A-Side vs. Floyd.

He has the WBC & Ring.
    Floyd only had the WBA.

It's not about belts, it's about payday.

Canelo made $2 million against Josecito (fight before Trout) and not much more for Trout.

Floyd made $20 million for De La Hoya.

Floyd gave Canelo $5 million (roughly twice his latest payday) and made $40 million.

          Okay. I understand.
But is it a fact that Spence walked away with those numbers in Mikey & Porter?

I don't why people always do this. It damn near NEVER happens and nor should it.

Spence has claims to be the A side, and that is out selling Crawford at the gate and certainly in terms of PPV. He's the bigger name period.

The two titles is fine and all, but the bigger case is him being the superior ticket and PPV seller. We have seen plenty of times fighters with two or three belts and the challenger got the bigger share of the pie.

Ultimately Bud thinks his legacy is already secure so he doesn't feel the need to bend financially for a legacy-defining fight.

Floyd knew that a De La Hoya fight would launch him into superstardom but I don't think Crawford really cares about that. He just wants to "make good money" as he put it so maybe he's content to keep doing what he's been doing.

There’s far too many robberies in boxing for that sort of thing to ever get agreed to.

The idea sounds good, but I doubt it would work out.

By the time the rematch is supposed to take place, someone is going to get injured, or catch covid, or get into a car wreck..
