De la Hoya made a superstar from Canelo. Mexican nationality was the key. If Canelo was Russian or American, he would be such a star as Andrade or Bivol.

It’ll be interesting to see if Oscar can keep GB relevant or even stay in business without Canelo
Since PBC pillaged GB stable Canelo was The only Asset that GB had that they could leverage To platforms to give them additional Dates for the rest of their Stable. Without that Bargaining Chip in Their pocket they might have a problem getting dates where they’re the Lead Promoter

" the crux of the contention was that DAZN, citing the ongoing pandemic, wanted to lower its contractual fee of $35 million per fight with Alvarez." Wrong! The writer of this article should do minimal research. DAZN never cited the pandemic for lower the fee. They were very explicit in saying that they would only pay the contracted amount if Canelo fought GGG, Oscar himself or a couple of MMA guys. Every other fight would mean a pay cut including fights with any champion at any 168 lbs or any other weight class.

No Cap from Oscar
Well I mean, Oscar ain’t lying about that. He really did a great job at turning Canelo into a household name.
