Canelo will struggle against Callum Smith

People are writing off Callum Smith due to how awful he was against Ryder. But he just had a bad day at the office and I see him giving Canelo all kinds of problems.

Not saying he'll definitely win but the fight is going to be similar to Loma vs Campbell. I'd like to see the odds.

One thing you can't take away from Callum Smith is that he's a very calm/measured fighter that takes his time and never rushes anything...and he'll be very disciplined against Canelo. And once you can do that, with the level he's at, anything can happen.

Don't write off the Scouser - he's not Rocky Fielding.

He definitely has his hands full. This is one of the best fight to make possible for Canelo.

A lot of people are going to be shocked. Most people judge boxers based on their last fight. And it seems boxing is the only job where you can't have an off-day at work, lol. In other sports, people have off-days. In the NBA, the best teams get destroyed all the time by ****ty teams. Ditto NFL. In football, the best teams get thrashed by ****ty teams all the time. Aston Villa destroyed Man City 6-1 this season and it's business as usual. It happens all the time. I watched Spain destroy Germany with all the talent on the team 6-0 yesterday but it's no biggie. Federer and Nadal get spanked all the time by unranked players. It's sport - shyt happens.

Boxers don't have that luxury except you're a guy like Fury whereby people always find a way to claim you only fight based on the level of competition.

Callum is REALLY good and powerful to have the kind of size advantage he’s going to have. Canelo IS that good but at one point does his size start becoming too big of an obstacle to overcome?

        We’ll see

You people are another wing of the delusional boxing fan base. Callum is gonna get folded like a cheap tent. I hear folks saying he's "powerful"...LOLOL....Where are they getting this from??? Its ridiculous the stuff people will convince themselves of. It was a trash fight 6 months ago and its a trash fight today. I struggle to see how smith makes it 8 rounds...he's just too weak and won't be able to take nearly any punishment....he may even quit on his stool.....you've been warned. Don't for a second think that Callum actually has a chance....this is as close to a cherrypick that you can come to fighting a ring magazine champion...and you'll all see this after the fight....im wondering what excuses I'm gonna hear from some of you guys.

Nah. Clenelo saw all the evidence he needed in Smith's last fight.

I think he is much better than he looked against Ryder and he had a bad night and fought a poor fight compared to what he can do on a good night with a good battle plan. He has a long reach, good hand speed, good combinations and good power to both body and head. I give him a chance to win. Canelo is a solid favorite and he should be off of past recent fights.

My concern for Smith would be that doesn't really use his height and reach.

Taking his time and not rushing anything will be his downfall, among other things. You can't sit back and hope to plant traps or counter Canelo if you haven't got the skill-set to do it in the first place. Canelo will chop him down like he did Fielding. It might take a few more rounds, but the result will be the same.

I honestly don’t know what happened to him against Ryder or perhaps it’s because Ryder is a brawler but Smith has always used his height adequately in fights.

The good thing is that Canelo isn’t a brawler and that will give him more time to use his range effectively.
