  • Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder On Fighting For Forthcoming Bridgerweight Title: I Decline

Deontay Wilder may be the ideal representative for the forthcoming "bridgerweight" weight class, but the former heavyweight titleholder swears he will have no truck with it. The division, the brainchild of the WBC and its president Mauricio Sulaiman, was born out of a desire to give the sport's less lefty heavyweights, as well as cruiserweights, a better chance to win a heavyweight title in a division in which most of its top participants currently walk around north of 250 pounds

That means we won't see a title on Wilder ever again unless he fights Joshua b4 Fury takes all his titles or fury or Joshua vacate titles cause Wilder sure as hell aint beating Gypsy King

Agree with everything he said there. Joshua got beat up my a tubby smaller man, wilder came close to knocking out fury in the first fight, Wallin came close to stopping Fury with that eye gash, etc etc. No need for new weight classes and even more belts

Wilder said Fury cheated by putting on more weight then the previous bout ? He claimed he needed to be 270 pounds so he can’t complain about weight then say he’s to strong for another class . He rambled on about his size disadvantages and how he wins anyway . If he wants an even playing field here it is ,he won’t be the only puncher or sizeable guy so there’s room for some crazy excuses here to .

Bro this guy is actually saying he will smash a fighters head like an avocado!! But he wants the same fans to have sympathy over a “dent” in his head. My father is a neurologist and has made clear to me NO boxer would ever be cleared to fight again had he really DENTED his head. It would lead to bleeding and pressure on the brain. Heck he would be lucky to even live a fulfilled life without worrying about one more knock to the head!

The boxing writers association “keep Fury safe,” campaign fails again. Wilder has knocked every heavyweight out not ducking (Whyte and Joshua) or Fury a HIGHLY probable glove cheat yet boxing wants Wilder to move out of the division?

GTFOH...They need to stop handing out crack with press badges in boxing. Usyk needs to be a Bridgerweight. That’s who you created the ****ing division for. These snakes will squirm under the heat.
