Ward was a tough smart fighter, but he wasn't some great stud as far as boxing ability goes. His best assets in his career were the refs and judges, full stop. If he fought all of his fights in neutral locations etc, he would have a much different looking record.

Beats them besides Beterbiev IMO...I've posted this years ago while Ward was still Active that Beterbiev would give Ward serious problems because Beterbiev is a compact powerful built guy so those Inside Tactics won't work vs Beterbiev. Also Beterbiev is a good inside fighter, good body puncher and can generation so much Power on Short Shots on the Inside

Ward was Tough and a very High In Ring IQ and can make adjustments to different style as well so he would likely find a way to Out-Box Beterbiev

Honestly I think Ward would have turned that AB fight into a complete sh.itshow. It would have been incredibly rough in there. I've never seen outbox anyone besides guys like Brand and those level guys.

He turned the Rodriguez fight into a roughhouse contest for God's sake

            Ward was "chinny"? Please explain.

What's your motivation for making this post? Ward couldn't have just been in a good place career and health wise and just called it a day, could he?

Saw him get shook in a handful of early fights and then when Boone nearly destroyed him with one punch he adopted the John Ruiz grapple style. Worked for him. Became very hard to hit the guy cleanly.

Maybe Ward will come back to fight these guys at Bridgerweight.

He had to protect that “0” after his gift decision over Kovalev, who wasn’t even the best at 175.

He's probably referring to Ward getting dropped by Boone, which isn't a big deal IMO. Too many people think getting dropped in a fight makes you a bum now. And Boone was the type of fighter who was always dangerous. Way better than his record would have you believe.
