In principle I'm not opposed to the concept of a new weight class in between cruiser and heavy, but A) It's being forced through by the WBC alone and I don't trust their motives, B) It's only the WBC doing it so it creates a divide between them and the other bodies and C) It has a ****** name.

There’s a divide in the bodies now ,not one following the same rules so I don’t see the relevance creating a weight class . Answer this honestly .
If the cruiser weight class was created today because of the gap , what percentage on here would be crying about it ?
Answer honestly.

Only a real absolute pariah level looney tune like Redeemer would ever suggest another weight division is a good thing.
Super needed, such a needed division you couldn't fill out 6 fights. Anyone here can make 6 HW fights in a blink.
It doesn't stop anyone from fighting at HW and adding to the minimum never has. All it does is forces fighters to gain weight and fight at an unnatural weight for themselves. The small guys are just going to add pounds because being a HW title contender is worth more than most championships. Usyk is making money now and that's probably his goal too. Give him more pounds he'll just get fatter so he can get paid.
Just like literally every generation. Never been any HW champion to reign for any considerable time who did not defend against guys who came from a smaller division, added twenty pounds, and got paid at HW. Who the **** are they saving? Did George Carpentier get tougher as he moved up? Is Usyk magically tougher now that he's a bit chunky? Dide Haye find magical chin lying under his bed then move up? Oh, they can hit the other guy harder now....and that makes them able to take a punch from a massive HW better.....protection. So who are they helping? The smaller man isn't getting longer, they are not getting tougher, all the things that made HW "dangerous" for them are still there, but, they weigh more then they learned to fight at and now have to learn to fight again with more bulk. Protects the small man doe
Jesus Christ, if it was the Wlad era you're talking like Haye vs Mormeck.....who TF needs that?
CWs fighting one another some more in a weight division that doesn't matter just like they were at CW. CWs not getting paid just like they were at CW. CWs being presented with **** no one cares about just like they were at CW.
There is no good reason to have this division. There's never been a good reason to exclude smaller men. Big men doing well does not equate to small men struggling. Sometimes there just isn't any talent in a demographic for a period. We have noooo oddly athletic fat ****s ATM. Should we make a division for them? Are they being beaten enmass? Or do we just simply not have a ****ing Tua atm? Not having a Dempsey doesn't mean you need to new rules to make Dempsey impossible.
Show me the era where smaller dudes with talent and hype are actually losing. I'll wait. Oh, never happened? There are eras without any small talented HWs and there are eras with but no eras where there are small talented HW except they hit a size wall and start losing....****ing ever.
