  • Comments Thread For: Crawford: If The Spence Fight Don't Happen, I Don't Feel Like It'll Hurt My Legacy

Terence Crawford lists Errol Spence Jr. second on his list of opponents he most wants to fight, behind only Manny Pacquiao. If Spence defeats Danny Garcia on December 5, he'll retain two welterweight titles Crawford wants to add to his WBO belt. The 30-year-old Spence also is unbeaten and is commonly considered one of the top five fighters, pound-for-pound, in boxing.

If not Spence Jr., there's Porter (WBO #1), Ortiz Jr. (WBO #2), and the Taylor vs. Ramirez winner (Undisputed Jr. WW Champion)! For 2021, choose at least 2 of the 3!

Too much money involved for it not to happen.

This will be another Hopkins/Toney. A megafight that never happened.

Bud needs to focus on Saturday night if not he's going to be picking his teeth up ...anything less than 100% there will be no Spence!

Crawford is closer to 34 than 33. This fight has already passed it’s due date so I care little too. Just a decent scrap now.

Crawford is my man but I can’t agree,

On this one! He’s calling out a legend and it’s a massive payday of course, but to fight a guy who’s been fighting professional for 25 years and will be 42 years old in a month isn’t right nor worthy of what great fighters do. We need to see big fights with the young guns, Pernell did it, Meldrick Taylor, Holyfield, Tyson although he did beat the smack outta Larry Holmes, and a small Michael Spinks, but it wasn’t without facing the young guns. In fact welterweight has some dangerous guys coming up and we need those battles. So this is a negative fight for me!

Crawford might aswell fight Pacquiao next. It’ll be closer to two old men fighting. Thurman was 30, Spence is 30, These guys are peak. Welterweight doesn’t really have a fight I can’t do without at this point. Looking more at fights including Inoue, Gonzalez, Rungvisai etc and the 135 and 140lb’ers. 147 killed it for me. Maybe after their fights it’ll reignite some more interest.
