    How good was Rigondeaux?

I'm reading up on the man and all of the sources are saying that in his prime he might have been the best boxer p4p in the world. Everyone in his division was scared of him and ducked him. I'm reading that he was a light version of Mayweather who was so skilled but the fans thought he was boring.

How good was he? Could he have been an all-time great if he had the right promoters on his side who had his back?

Could have been an ATG based on talent in my opinion.

Got avoided like the plague at his natural weight unfortunately.

Honestly nobody wanted a piece of him. As far as I can remember, bob arum wanted to feed him to Nonito when the guy was being tauted as the next Pacquiao. When rigo flipped the script and embarrassed the guy, arum was pissed and blackballed rigo. That's when the guy's career went into the shutter and years went bye with people avoiding him (frampton,Santa Cruz ect) until he decided to cash out against loma. Overall great fighter, but like many cubans never reached theor full potential in terms of fame and talent.

Plenty of talent, lacked drive and aggression. When he turned up with no intention of throwing any punches of Loma, that was the end of my interest in him. It was a weird watch, a fight with two skilled fighters and there was no skill on display. Loma won through work rate and Rigo did nothing then faked an injury. A contender for the worst fight of all time. Rigo vs Donaire was a great schooling thought, with Nonito adding drama with the late knockdown.

Basically, probably woulda been a hall of Famer had he escaped Cuba earlier. Dude has a hellacious straight counter, vicious body puncher, and super chinny which always makes for a little excitement.

At his advanced age he damn near shut out a p4p fighter like nonito donaire. Broke his face

Sit back and counterpunch. That's his whole offense.

One of the most ducked fighters in recent history. Nobody wanted any parts of him.

And I'm amazed how sharp he stays even being so inactive. Let's you know the caliber of fighter he was.
