Im good with this new weight class. As long as the top heavyweights keep getting bigger then it makes sense to add a new class just under heavyweight every 40 years or so.

The problem with too many weight classes is all the Supers and Juniors. The original 8 weight classes, plus Cruiser and Bridger would be just fine.

Yea I'd prefer this myself or some more evenly distributed realignment of the weight classes that max out at a similar number.

That said it wouldn't be nearly as bad if we had 18 divisions & 18 champions. Having 4+ champs per division is doing more damage to the integrity of the sport than all the weight divisions.

Yeah it's objectively awful. It's not even a very good name for a human to be fair.

You know what I mean though. The kid isn't even involved in boxing, but I think he does Judo or Jiu Jitsu since I saw a little video of him rolling around in a gi. Mike Tyson and a lot of Hollywood celebs gave him mad props so he probably has a big enough head already lol. Doesn't need an entire division named after him.

This new division could save Deontay Wilder's career. He said he thought about going down to Cruiserweight, which would be too much of a weight cut at this point. But if this division tops out at 224, he won't have to get embarrassed by Fury again.

In all seriousness, boxing needs several less divisions, not one more.
