Not like DAZN was choc full of too names. They were angling for him to fight GGG for a third time when he’s clearly washed the **** up.
Going back to PPV, the skies the limit for this dude. I could see him breaking 100m within his next 3 fights. Also, DAZN was def offering less money on the contract for COVID, so he wasn’t going to see 36m in his next fight with them either.
He’s a free agent. Big name. Any fight he wants to make, he can.Comment

Canelo gotta be the best biggest jack ass and his team. He's going to get a counter suit for $400 mill if he steps into a ringComment

Why would he? To beat him again except this time soundly?NOONE wants to see a 3rd fight. It was seen by all very plainly that he lost his last fight against Dervy. By the time they would fight he’d be 39. The fight is over it’s time to move on past a boxer that’s now beyond his prime. Canelo beats him soundly. If so, the next thing you’ll hear is GGG is an old man. The fight is done. Canelo is far beyond GGG now.Comment

Sorry I haven't followed boxing closely this year, the few bouts there has actually been, so not up to speed like a lot of the regulars here. But....is this really a possible matchup with Canelo and Plant? I read the Eddie Reynoso (spelling?) comment yesterday and at the end of it he mentioned Plant as a December opponent. That would be a GREAT FIGHT, and I'd actually think Plant would present many problems for Canelo. We'll see if it happens or notComment

You're right,in his next fight he wasnt guaranteed that amount but who exactly do you think his next 3 dance partners are going to be where he generates atleast 33mil to himself, let alone cover the cost of his opponents purse and network cuts? The biggest available draw as an opponent is obviously triple g and that ain't happening now.
Also, not that I care to see it, but don’t count out the Golovkin rematch. If DAZN didn’t wanna pay Canelo, do you really think they want to pay GGG 25m per fight for 4 more fights ? I can ABSOLUTELY see DAZN trying to get out of that deal now that Alvarez is gone, seeing as how the ONLY reason they signed Golovkin was to get that rematch. Boxing’s crazy. Anything can happen. If I was Canelo I wouldn’t want my pay capped at 33m per fight. With PPV there is no ceiling. Ask Floyd, Pacquaio, and MacGregor.
No matter how much he makes, i think it’s best for the sport if he’s a free agent and can fight whoever wherever. Makes it easier to make fights (hopefully)Last edited by JLC; 11-09-2020, 12:29 AM.Comment
