Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez: Haney Hasn't Even Fought C-Class Fighters, Gamboa Is A 'D' Fighter

Teofimo Lopez completely disagrees with Devin Haney on whether Lopez is boxing's undisputed lightweight champion. Lopez obviously believes his victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko validated him as the true WBC 135-pound champion. Haney contends that he is the legitimate WBC lightweight champ because Lopez captured the WBC's "franchise" championship from Lomachenko, a distinction that was not supposed to be transferable when the WBC introduced it in June 2019.

Old, shot Gambia is more or less a gatekeeper. Prime Gamboa in the lower weights was an absolute monster.

I still wish we would have gotten Lopez vs Gamboa. Sadly that fight was left marinating in the back of Arums fridge for too long.

Most everyone fights at the lowest weight possible to gain an advantage, especially without same day weigh-ins.

Also, Loma has been successful at 135. Is he a small lightweight? Yes, but certainly not just a blown-up featherweight. Now if Loma were to go up to 140 then I would agree

Ok Teo then it shouldn't be a problem fighting him next since you are a upper level opponent. 🥊

I think Teo should pump the brakes on the insults! He's the #1 Lightweight! He's Top Dawg! He's already told Kellerman he's not interested in Tank! He knows DAZN wants Garcia vs. Haney! Start talking about your own future! Verdejo in MSG on PR Parade Weekend? Pedraza? That's good money! City would be on fire!!!

Is Teo going to fight Haney or talk crap about him? Bob Arum is already claiming Haney is not relevant to Teo so if if he won't face him then shut the FKK up about him. Or fight him. Undisputed would be nice.
