I don't blame him. Thurman, for all his successes years ago, has been lackluster in the 2 appearances he's had in the last 3.5 years. He's currently not a draw, nor a contender at the moment. At this stage, he needs to beat back one of the top ten veterans like Ugas or one of the young up-and-coming guys like Ortiz or Ennis to regain status.

He talks like he is the king of the hill at welterweight and is far from it.

This statement is real. Thurman needs to build his brand back and the fans need to see Spence vs Bud before anything else. Green sent!

Sounds like a duck. Sounds like Spence knows he's finished and is afraid to lose to Keith.

While bfore the crash it was thurman who was ducking Spence. For years. Spence must be finished if he's now ducking the guy who was ducking him.
I guess that's why he's fighting Garcia next. Because he is finished. Failing to see your logic.

I think Thurman's just fallen off everyone's radar as a continued threat in the WW division.

Can Thurman comeback and win a fight? Sure. Can he sustain a winning streak at this point against quality opposition? Highly unlikely. The man is like injury prone and loves to talk about them. Spence went through a crazy car accident and is desperate to get his fight on since.

              Two different mindsets.

Yordenis Ugas, Keith Thurman express mutual interest in title fight

WBA “world” welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas and former “super” champion Keith Thurman have one another in their crosshairs. “One Time” states that a clash between the two is “real talk” and could serve as his next fight, and Ugas says they could put the matchup together “over the weekend.”

They need to teach these damn fighters how to talk and how to conduct themselves. These vague answers they give do nothing but frustrate the fans and waste an opportunity to hype up themselves or a certain fight. These fighters get too big inside their heads they feel like they don't owe anybody any answers well guess what, sooner or later the fans won't care about you either. Just ask all these other PBC fighters that looked like ppv stars 4 years ago and now are all fighting for scraps on free TV with little to no popularity. They also didn't promote themselves and were highly inactive, that's what happens no matter how big you thought you pnce were!

What do you mean "I just don't like him"? really? what is that? high school cheerleading team? Just answer these questions you get asked like a man/fighter. This is not the Kardashians! This is fight ralk and this is the hurt business, the gladiator sport, nobody's intetested in that bs.

Who else is that dude going to fight if he beats Garcia if he's not fighting Crawford or even a past prime Thurman? What a crock of shďt!

                    Spence doesn’t make decisions

Al Haymon does! That’s who all y’all ignorant ass people call name even though he doesn’t sit down with any of you to due business. I understand him but not you fighters with no control of careers. I like Spence but he doesn’t control whom he fights no matter what he is saying. All of you can be bought!

Vergil Ortiz Jr says he wants fight with Keith Thurman in 2021

Before his return in July, Ortiz said he was ready to take on Terence Crawford (also not a PBC fighter) if he got an offer. Now, he’s thrown out a quick comment on social media that he’s targeting former titleholder Keith Thurman for a 2021 bout.
