Saved me the time. I was a massive brook fan, but he is such a wasted talent. While he was under warren he was no.1 to tim bradleys wbo, didnt take the fight. Warren was fed up with Kells dad always not wanting to risk kell in a dangerous fight. Then he went through the injury phase vs devon Alexander, finally got it on vs porter... career defining fight... start of something great... only that it wasnt, purely due to his own lack of discipline. Lined up vs Diego chaves he pulled out, lined up jesse vargas twice... brook failed to take the fight... they was offered last minute deal for £3mill UK POUND (which some ppl tend to forget close to $4mil). All 3, him, his manager and trainer took the fight as he wasnt gna lose his ibf title going up. According to Hearn they accepted the fight within the hour of it being discussed. Financial great deal, but it was ultimately a bad career move. Had brook not gone up and boxed Ggg i rekon vs spence would have gone the full 12 and cudav been a split decision either way, he showed in the 1st half of the fight, he was giving it good as he was getting, boxingscene had it 4-3 brook end of 7. 2nd half he faded (i believe due to the weight cut) and Spence brought it on and did what he needed to. After that loss, he fought zerafa, poor performance but got him wbo no.1 for Hurd, he had no interest in making that fight. Begged a khan fight for years... so much so it became embarrassing almost. Now he gets his shot at Crawford, and in my eyes doesnt stand a preyer at this point in his career. Shame if you see where porter went after his loss and look at Brooks career, purely down to lack of discipline and dedication to the sport. I understand why he locked hearn and ingle off to keep most the cash but still loyalty should mean more then money... both them in his corner got him them few glory nights he did have. I expect crawford to stop him inside 8.

nah it was more than that
Amir was under severe pressure to fight a'puncher' but he knew if he ducks brook, he has to fight thurman, spence or danny garcia...and for less money too. So left without any options, he was suddenly offered the Canelo fight.
in Canelo, he got a ready made excuse aswell as the claim as 'unbeaten at WW'
that's why when amir got $5m for the crawford fight, bob arum even kept saying 'he is unbeaten as a welterweight' to hype up the fight.
in boxing this fake hype actually works.
Kell seeing that after the canelo ko, also mocked amir and said if he wanted to he could fight and beat GGG or fight better than amir did vs canelo, vs a better boxer like GGG to prove he is better than amir.
amir in response basically said kell was crazy if he thinks he can beat GGG.
Brook by this point was chasing the GGG payday. he didnt care about a loss, only money. He needs that multi million pound fight since amir wasnt giving it him. Also, brook didnt want to mix it vs elite big puncher HWs either, esp since he'd get less money.
he can hate amir khan, but amir made sacrifices from his childhood to make it as an amateur (and constantly getting told not to box by his family meant he had to prove himself young and fast). All the things amir did in the early 00s set him up to be a bigger overall name than kell aswell as have a better chance of getting money fights. Even if amir was never top tier elite, he was good enough for the likes of manny pacquaio and oscar de la hoya to really hype him.
it paid off.
$5m vs crawford when he was told "you only have the kell brook payday left" and then $7m from arabs for some bum from australia.
That's got to hurt if you're kell brook and only walking away with $2m from crawford.
Serves him right though, when i thought amir khan was possibly dead vs canelo, brook was laughing his ass off on twitter expressing his delight. What a pr1ck.Comment

Well done Kell, well done young lad. It’s your body, your brain, your hard training that’s got you to where you are. Edward Hearn has never taken a punch in his life, ever been a pro fighter, you should rightfully keep as much of your money as you want. Having a promoter like Hearn is for suckers.Comment

He let his obsession with Khan drive him into a career ending beating. There were a lot of competitive and lucrative fights at Welterweight but haste and spite took control. This needs to stop.
When Amir Khan signed to fight Canelo, Kell Brook phoned Eddie Hearn directly and said "Get me Golovkin", a little while later when Eubank Jr pulled out of fighting GGG, Hearn called Brooks team and asked them if they were still interested in fighting GGG, he, his manager and trainer all said yes and signed the fight.
Hearn didn't drag him kicking and screaming, and it's not in Hearn to know better than Brooks manager and trainer what's a safe fight for him. He's a PROMOTER, his job is to get his fighters the fights they want and PROMOTE them for good money.
Brook is the one to blame, his ego and obsession with Khan cost him his career, not Hearn, I find it pathetic when people blame others for their own foolishness.Comment

$3m less than Khan, But you have to remember there is no crowds, so that’s a lot of ticket money not available. I believe it’s also not pay-per-view.
To be fair, in the current climate with no crowds and no way of knowing when crowds are going to return, I don’t blame guys like Brook taking $2m to fight because you can wait around and might never get that money again.
It’s really not a bad guaranteed purse, Given the current circumstances.

I hope and think Kell will put up a good fight against another world no. 1 .Eddie's put all his marbles at sky in to 3 shyte box office events and if Kell was to pull it off I would hope when 2 bob Eddie comes running he tells him what to do.Del Chisora trudging forward hands down as expected and Usyk unable to stop him No. 1 shyte ppv. Then we have a 41 year old faded fighter who's already cleaned out Eddie's man in a another PPV , ...ffs!
Hands up to Ch.5 ...great show and KO of the year .Comment

He has put a load a ****e cards on Sky Sports. Featuring dire womens boxing and mismatches.let me ask you a question, how did he get to where he is now ? Who put him there ? Who’s the entrepreneur who took big financial gambles to build a sporting brand that became a platform for kids like brook who would be working and surviving in normal jobs . I suggest you do some thinking and understand how people like Barry Hearn have of course built their businesses for their own gain but they gamble on and invest ( without any guarantee of success) in unpredictable kids like brook . Do your ****ing homework and while we are at it Hearn has kept boxing alive through this pandemic and probably lost a fair few million to keep fighters active during this period .
Oh and woeful PPVs.
**** off with that rubbish. Hearns cards are an absolute disgraceComment

hearn may have said to brook pity u are not a middleweight when eubank wouldnt fight ggg and brook said i'll fight ggg!! yes boss pick me i'll do it!!
so both of them are at fault for that one, i'd say hearn knew exactly what he was doing when he made that comment to brook knowing brook as he did, he opened the door for him and brook skipped through!!
hearn should have been actively discouraging brook from that fight
i do remember hearn saying he advised kell not to take the spence fight after ggg, another bad call moving back down again for that fight
and now crawford at 147 this time without hearn and pretty much anybody it seem's, kell keeping all the cash to himself this time, it's a silly fight as brook is over the hill and back down the other side, until he prove's otherwise which is highly likely as he would have done it already to build the fightComment
