The state of boxing in 2020 and going into 2021

For me the sport has never been more divided than now.

ESPN(Top Rank), FOX & Showtime(PBC) & DAZN(Matchroom) has created 3 "divisions" in which their figthers are not going to fight each other.

The belt situation is just getting more and more ******.

WBA is doing its multiple belt and now the WBC franchise is just ridiculous.

Even more is WBC's idea to create a new division: Super Cruiserweight.

From 190 lbs to 224 lbs.

    I mean come on....

Not to talk about all the bad PPV from PBC.

Only the really big fights should be PPV and not every month for 75 dollars.

Boxing is really not doing itself any favour.

It’s sad where boxing is at. HBO pulling out of the sport really took it down a notch.
UFC has really filled that niche for many outside the hardcore boxing fans.
I tried to tell people about the Loma/Lopez fight and how it was a big unification and two exciting fighters. Fell on deaf ears.
I’m not sure the ABC title situation makes much of a difference. Most people don’t know or care who holds what titles.
Can’t say I blame them. All we hear are excuses when fans want the best fights while Dana White gives it to them consistently.

Yep, ****** and bad and their new weight class is totally useless, unneeded and will go nowhere.

Too Agenda Driven and completely Divided and that is the Downfall of Boxing

ESPN Push their Own Narrative, PBC and Fox/Showtime push their Own Narrative and DAZN push their Own Narrative. Then you have Gullible Fans and Boxing Reporters picking sides as well so it is all BAD

Going into 2021 we need The Powers That Be in Boxing to work together more and only the Fighters can apply that pressure. If things don't change then you will see more Networks do what HBO did which was just walk away from Boxing all together

I think Like Teofimo vs Loma, Boxing need more big fights for FREE for now! The sport need to reconnect with the Casual sports fans which they have completely LOST over the years

A weight class for boxers who are too big for CW but too small for HW is actually the most ideal weight division addition that would happen since adding a pit stop between Lightweight and Welterweight and Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight.

The weight classes like 108, 112, 115, 118, 122, 126 are the ridiculous one’s honestly. And the thought of a 260 pounder vs a 215 pounder being a fair fight because they’re both in the same weight division is a little crazy. Yes, “back in the day” was tougher, you had 112, 118, 126, 135, 147, 160, 175, and HW. But let’s face it, if weights divisions were honored to a tee, meaning if you are a welterweight, your in-ring weight should be 147lbs, boxing would be a lot more competitive.

Imagine if Mike Tyson, weighing at 215lbs in his prime, would actually have to worry about just fighting guys as heavy as 225lbs, he probably would have ended up with an even better career than he did if he would just have to fight opponents who are literally his size.
