Comments Thread For: Mayweather: A Lot Of People Don't Know Tank's Boxing Skills Better Than His Power

Floyd Mayweather has urged Gervonta Davis to rely more on his boxing skills during training camp for his upcoming fight against Leo Santa Cruz. Mayweather, whose company promotes Davis, has helped his head trainer, Calvin Ford, prepare the unbeaten Baltimore native for this Showtime Pay-Per-View bout at Mayweather's gym in Las Vegas. The retired five-division champion has coached Davis on how to handle his first pay-per-view main event both inside and outside of the ring.

Leo Santa Cruz: I asked for Gervonta Davis fight, want to prove myself

130lb titleholder Leo Santa Cruz is well aware that he heads into this weekend’s fight as the underdog, acknowledging that Gervonta Davis has a lot of physical gifts that represent real danger for him. But still, Santa Cruz said he was the one who sought out this matchup as he wanted to prove his mettle to the world.

        From ******:

“He’s a big hitter, I’m a smaller guy, but I know Gervonta didn’t ask for this fight. I’m the one who asked for this fight. They made this fight and I just want to prove myself. I want to fight the best and who better to fight than Gervonta Davis? I want to go out there and give him a great fight.”

Cant believe how many fights there are this weekend. Showtime PPV, DAZN (2 cards), ESPN. This weekend, starting on Friday will light up like a Christmas Tree with fights all over. And a sleeper of a fight which may be great is two undefeated fighters going at it: Rashidi Ellis vs. Alexis Rocha.

I think in order for gervonta to make a statement . he has to take it to Santa Cruz. If your just gonna box and play it safe on your first ppv then I think your gonna turn a lot of fans off . same with Spence he should of knocked out Mikey but won me back with the war with porter . entertainment wise .

If that was the case, then he would have beaten Gamboa very easily.

I think Tank 1/2 trained for that thinking a KO was a formality, there was a part in his career where Tank was reminding me of Broner where flash and party was going to derail him and his boxing, he looks different this camp and if he can muster Floyds work ethic he can really make a mark.
