Comments Thread For: Hearn: Wilder Missed The Boat, May Not Get Title Shot Until 2022

Eddie Hearn, promoter for IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, could see Deontay Wilder being squeezed out from the world title picture until 2022. Joshua, provided he beats mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev on December 12, plans to move forward with a two-fight agreement to unify with Tyson Fury, who holds the WBC's world title.

LOL Mr Deontay "I will freeze you out" Wilder is likely to be frozen out. I'd laugh at the irony but Deontay had ample chances to face AJ and has chosen let the Fury rematch contract run out so freezing him out is doing him a favour.

Wilder is probably suffering from depression after being served with a humble pie by Fury. He's 35 yrs old and probably not the same fighter what he was after a severe beating from Fury. Good riddance ex-champ!

Don't think Wilder cares as he is a multi millionaire now. He wasn't in a hurry to fight Fury a third time and covid was a great excuse to not fight.

This genuinely sounds about right. I think he truly believed in his own invincibility... fury couldn't have shattered it anymore if he had a sledge hammer. I think what will happen to him is like what happened to Naseem Hamed after his loss to barrera, could never get it back together to fight again. The loss took everything they stood for in the ring. Everyones around for the happy winning days... wheres all his yes men when hes clearly down in the dumps about himself.
