Dazn is a joke and hopefully they get what's coming to them for getting involved with boxing and not taking it serious, never forget per Dan Rafael that BJS and Callum Smith are not "elite" but only ggg coming off a loss who hasnt fought in a year, Jake Paul, and Khabib would be considered "elite", they also went with hearn who has zero track record In the US instead of Golden Boy who have promoted the biggest boxing events In the US the past decade and a half

Someone needs to leak those two deals. I'd love to know the level of sketchiness GBP was on here.

          So the story so far:

Canelo files against GBP and DAZN in Federal court.

Canelo gets told to re-file on grounds of diversity jurisdiction (multiple parties operating from different juridictions)

Canelo refiles against GBP and DAZN in CA state court

DAZN moves to have Canelo vs DAZN heard in Federal court and a new judge is assigned (Olguin).

Canelo moves to have both Canelo vs DAZN and Canelo vs GBP heard under the original judge (Anderson) in Federal court citing case overlap.

GBP cite an Arbitration clause to have Canelo vs GBP taken to Arbitration and are arguing that Canelo vs GBP and Canelo vs DAZN are different and seperate claims.

          .......

Ok, so if there's validity to GBPs contractual claim here it probably leaves us with GBP vs Canelo going to arbitration and Canelo vs DAZN being heard in Federal court most likely under the judge assigned for the DAZN request.

Man, s'like really slow motion tennis this shet...

Yup, knew it from the jump, Golden Boy has a force majeure clause in their contract w/t the Ginger that alone protects them from ponying up the money promise to Canelo after Covid 19 ravage the world. Not just that but the kicker in all this is DAZN doesn’t have a force majeure clause in their contract w/t Golden Boy which means they end up holding the bag of $h1tt when all this is over.

At the end of the day, the court will decide GBP and DAZN's business practices in marketing and promoting Canelo when revising the contract. the narrative isn't about Canelo asking for $35mil. It's about approvals from DAZN and GBP not providing the solution. Canelo agreed to a 30% cut...

Canelo at least is in the gym helping other fighters and staying responsibly busy. No Boxing No Life. Meanwhile, yet again, industry are pulling their hair because GGG hasn't even been reported on since when...which means.... GGG's contract might have verbiage for Canelo in which GGG agreed to and acknowledged. I wonder if DAZN has made it a priority to terminate GGG's contract and adjust a new one in which doesn't include Canelo nor conflict with the current lawsuit and Gennadiy agrees to non-disclosure.

i have a strong su****ion the judge won’t separate the two cases. that’s why it went back to the original judge already.

second, so dazn is seeking arbitration in the uk and gbp is seeking it in cali. if you’re a judge, what do you make of all this? what i wouldn’t give to see the horrors that are in the contracts

This is all really on Golden Boy. They didn’t protect their fighter by having specific language and making sure they and Canelo had more say in how opponents are selected. They shouldn’t have have trusted that everyone was going to play nice with this much money involved.
This probably ends one of two ways. Either GBP and DAZN come together and clarify the contract language to move forward. Or the damage is done and they come to a buyout and Canelo moves on.
I think at this point a buyout is the more likely option.
DAZN is hemorrhaging subscribers and battling their biggest draw in court for years might bury them.
