Is Berlanga being manufactured to challenge Canelo?

last fight was one punch early, but he would have ended being knocked the f uck out otherwise.
Berlangas power isnt completely proven yet, none of his opponents had high level toughness, but you can still see based on his opponents reaction after eating the first solid punch that Berlanga has really heavy hands.
If he is manufactured or not, time will tell. He shows some more advanced technique offensively to work around guards and set up his punches. He isnt just mindlessly spamming power punches to maintain his first round KO-streak, but there are still too many question marks that have to be answered first.
I think the ideal opponent to get some rounds is Vaughn Alexander.
If his handlers really believe in his ability, they should match him up with Steven Nelson.
If they want to get an opponent with a name, they should pay Fedor Chudinov or Truax to get beaten up.Comment

Wonder what he's doing in sparring and with who? Anybody know?
Seems like his handlers are wasting time with the record, hes not learning anything with these blowouts. There is a sense that it's all about manufacturing the record and the myth. Yes he looks pretty good. But not outrageously spectacular like young Tyson did. Tyson was a phenomenon. Is Berlanga making guys run out of the gym? Is Berlanga already sparring with world class top ten contenders like teenage Thurman was with Antonio Tarver and Winky Wright and Andre Berto? Is Berlanga seeking out high level sparring with major names like Teofimo did by sparring Rigondeaux and Gervonta Davis?Comment

He has to fight some good fighters before he can fight Canelo and that should show if he is for real. They do seem to stops his fights too early sometimes as if the ref wants to keep the first round KO streak going. How often does he leave his opponent out on the canvas? It seems like his fights are usually stopped with his opponent standing up. he has not defeated anybody good yet. He looks great against soft opposition but he is still an untested prospect.Comment

I can see this dude ending up like Lemieux. Looks great against flat footers but found out big time by any half decent boxer mover.Comment
