Normally a good training camp is 6-8 weeks so that the fighter doesn't peak early and burn out weeks before the fight, granted he has kept himself in decent shape during the off-season and within 25 lbs of the weight he has to make.

From the recent videos I've seen, it looks to me as if Tank is a little weak and not as powerful or explosive as he was earlier in camp. I feel from his body language that he's kind of drained but I've seen this before and fighters still managed to show up and fight well. It's just something I've noticed.

Look how fat that kid was at the beginning of camp, beer gut and everything

Tank had only missed weight once so in that sense ellerbee has a valid point about the issue being exaggerated.

However when we see him in between fights in attendance at other fights he always looks extremely bloated and fat.

If Tank makes 130 for this fight Hopefully that signals he his weight issues are a thing of the past.

Lol, it really has been blown out of proportion. There have been plenty of fighters that have missed weight one time like Davis has. My favorite fighter has missed way more than that

He was also given 2 hours to make weight for Gamboa after missing in his first weigh in. And that's not mentioning the fact he was given an extra hour to make weight for no real reason...

At the end of the day Davis has only missed the contractual weight one time. Same as many fighters of the past. It's being blown out of proportion because Davis is associated with Mayweather and that automatically gets people talking. Good and bad lol.

I think it's a legitimate question. He missed 130 in 2017, then he missed 135 in December 2019 and now he's going back down to 130. Seems to my eyes that because of weight/stamina issues, he's a 5-6 round fighter, as far as being very dangerous. I think Tank has serious ass power early in fights, but as fights go on, his power seems to diminish despite his 12 round KO of Gamboa, who ironically was gassed out in his fight vs Tank. This is going to be very interesting with him fighting Leo, because Leo is a high volume striker, over the course of 12 full rounds.

Rexy that is fair but this is not a rare occurrence in boxing.

What IS blown out of proportion is the topic of weight. Anything to talk about but discipline. Yes it takes that to keep focused, to train, to stay out of jail, to learn to keep your emotions in check when a female upsets your feelings. Underling things? Or UNDERLINE the lies of weight being the story. I am talking discipline the character of the fighter. Not entertainment tonight talk. Something about rewarding behaviour like his can haunt a fighter. Will it who knows ? He might get his act tight and be what he should be in and out of the ring. Distractions are not the food they are the talk of weight being the problem. Hope he does well, he should have no problems if he is focused and used his time to be ready and steady. His last fight was not impressive to me. Forget the fight weight look at the time it took to take that guy out in his condition.

The issue of weight is overblown. Meaning its talked about as more of an issue than it really is. He has missed only once. The lack of discipline that many believe caused him to miss weight and have to be weighed multiple times last December is not overblown as we've seen other issues of discipline rise up outside the ring.
