Tennis is actually a great sport. Easy to play as you only need one other person, which is great as you get older. Good workout as well.

Tennis was originally an upper-class sport (and still is in some areas/countries), and most professional tennis players come from the middle-class. Boxers on the other hand usually come from lower-class families.

Add to that the adrenaline it takes to step into a ring (which you can hardly compare with walking onto a tennis court) and you know why the average tennis player behaves better/classier than the average boxer.

I respect Floyd's accomplishments and I think he's one of the best of all time, but he is definitely insecure. Look at the timing of everything he's done since he retired - it's always done in a way that's calculated to keep him in the spotlight rather than the fighters that're trying to succeed him as box office attractions.

Everyone in boxing tries to copy Ali, if they have charisma or not determines if they are then a "bad guy" or "good guy" to the public

Interestingly Ali himself stole his schtik from a professional wrestler named Gorgeous George, as a young Cassius Clay was in the studio when George, wearing a feathered, velvet robe trashed his next opponent and waxed lyrical about being the greatest, Ali's eyes were said to widen in awe.

Soon after Ali took his talking into overdrive.

Cleary Rafa is superior on the court and on paper.

Mayweather is the opposite, always putting down and discrediting all time great fighters and modern greats. Floyd's insecurity and jealousy are embarrassing and shameful. No great champion acts like that, they all admire and appreciate greatness, not feel threatened by it. Floyd truly is a fraud pretender who even confessed twice that he's a coward and he's ok with it.

Read the words of a true class champion, Rafael Nadal.

Q I know you've been asked many times, but how would you like to be remembered after you retire?

Nadal: For me, by far! The personal issue is more important than the professional one. I always say that I would like to be remembered as a good person, good people, much more than a champion or anything else. Because, in the end, victories, titles, are moments of happiness, euphoria, adrenaline, success, but all of this is temporary and I have always been very clear about that; the success and interest that you generate in people, in companies, is something temporary. That interest is for what I do, not for what I am. The important thing is that the people who know you have a positive opinion of you, the image that is transferred to the world can be manufactured.

"I'm nothing to argue about. Life already gives you problems big enough to turn our little problems into huge problems.
He’s not being humble Federer is the best tennis player of all time. Take out the French open and Rafa is a great player but nobody’s even comparing him to Federer.

Forgetting about the specific comparison you mention, these are some amazing words from Nadal.
I would say more accurately that "all of us could learn some class from Nadal's response".

Forget about everyone focusing on the subjective records, numbers, and rankings. This man is talking about life, reality, and truth.

...I'm sure resisting the temptation to be classless in tennis is so great.. he could easily talk about how he's going to take out his hatred for his opponent on the tennis ball and throw up offensive hand gestures at his opponent who is over 50 feet away from him.

Most people that are overly modest, are that way because they are afraid of something. You cannot be afraid in boxing, in fact you cannot fear in life 'The only thing you should fear is God'.

Not a giant Floyd Mayweather supporter, but I don't think boxers should be suddenly looking outside the sport of boxing on how to conduct themselves 'You can dislike Mayweather personally, but remember his motto? Hard work, DEDICATION'.

                  Hard Work, Dedication.

                  Hard WORK, DEDICATION.

Floyd Mayweather was a great champion, and honorable fighter.

same as PAC. he accomplished something people wouldn't think of. but he never said that he is the best ever, ATG or etc just to make himself known to the people.. people remembered you for what you've done and not for what you've said. if people forgets you then something in your life isn't interesting at all. floyd may have the impressive 0 in his records but it wont live up to the hype that long.. competition level matters and the war you went through, how you fought the best and how you perform your best.

ok lets take out the french open...rafa is 3-1 against federer at the australian open and 1-3 at wimbledon. meaning even. with the french open he's 10-4 against federer.

federer won at least 7 grand slams before rafa and djkovic ever were threats meaning he played in a weak era beating guys like rod****, hewitt, nalbandian, and davydenko. good players but not all time greats. when the era got tougher rafa and djokvoic won the majority of the grand slams and rafa and djokovic always had to beat an all time great or 2 to do it.

rafa also has a better record against djokovic who is the other great of the era so i dont see how federer can be better. rafa is 10-6 against djokovic while federer is 6-11 vs djokovic overall. rafa has a winning record against djokovic at the french and us open while djovic leads at the australian and wimbledon. rafa has a winning record against federer at the australian and french while federer leads at wimbledon, they have never played at the us open. federer does not have a winning record against djokovic anywhere.

just as many slams, tougher era, much better head to head and much better against djokovic than fed. yep he is better
