Shannon Briggs tore his bicep in the first round of his fight against Vitali Klitschko and subsequently took one of the most savage beatings I've ever seen, then got stiffed on his pay by the promoters. He fought the heavyweight champion of the world, with one arm, for free, refused to quit, and ended up hospitalized because of it. And yet he complained less than Wilder did about his heavy ring attire, and less than Pac or Loma have about their shoulder injuries.
This is good boxing journalism right here stuffed with facts. #LET'S_GO_CHAMP

Mfers take injuries too seriously when it comes to winning & losing. Mfers been winning injured. Mfers losing injured too obviously. Injured is a constant basically. So I don't necessarily see Loma using it as an excuse to most boxing fans or the need for Teo to take it like he's taking it cuz most fans know the score.

Casual fans who think Loma is undefeated uninjured & 0-2 when he was hurt are the only mfers this type of news is for unless you are a hardcore who becomes too invested in injury reports in boxing.
I mean you said it. Fighters come up with these excuses then say “no excuses” after. Sadly it’s always been the way and it always helps their cause. It keeps the story alive somewhat. The guys that say legit no excuses and I was %100 in there, get less credit in terms of stock sadly. It gives journalists something to report. Loma started at a snails pace and then only came on at the halfway point. So did the injury bother him more early? And somehow heal up later on? It’s corny. Too bad excuses make money. Training camp is all part of things. If he hurt himself in training then that’s on him. He took the money and the fight. I picked Loma to win. I thought he’d start earlier and turn López, plus keep him off with sum drop jabs. Loma had child sized shoes in there compared to López. I try to dismiss weight as often as I can, and I don’t think it was that big a factor in the fight. Only when he got tagged with body shots and he would have to jump back did I see it as a factor. Very little grappling to the credit of both. My brothers both told me López was going to win. Sometimes getting it wrong is the best part of boxing. Keeps us intrigued.

Loma threw the right far more than the left in that fight.

Lopez you were injured too, why didn't you get surgery for your injury? That's not saying that I'm condoning Lomachenko for taking the fight, he should have pulled out of the fight if he needed surgery. If he was arrogant enough to think that he could beat Lopez with a injured shoulder, he deserved to lose. He's also lucky that he didn't get knocked out in a violent manner. I'm not interested in seeing those two fight again, Lomachenko loses respect for defrauding the fans. Having them think that he was healthier than he had been in the past, due to his year off.
