  • Comments Thread For: Lomachenko Manager: If Lopez and His Team So Tough - Will They Do Rematch?

As BoxingScene.com previously reported, Vasiliy Lomachenko underwent right shoulder surgery Monday. Lomachenko will not be able to train until the early part of 2021. Last Saturday night at the MGM Grand's Conference Center, Lomachenko suffered his second career defeat when he dropped a twelve round unanimous decision to Teofimo Lopez.

Should have withdrawn.. because the fight appeared to be fixed as Loma didn’t swing any punches for the first 6 rounds of the damn fight

Lopez is unlikely to give Loma a rematch. I would have bet on Loma if they have a rematch, provided it takes place within a year

If Loma was so good why didn't he throw no punches til round 8 ffs?

Idgaf about no rematch, I just don't see the point. If Teo & his dad want one fair play. If Arum pays them well I don't doubt they'll run it back.

Did the shoulder heal already? Lopez broke his shoulder, it didn't happen all by itself. The gameplan was to hit anything and everything. If he was injured before the fight, he shouldn't have taken it. Excuses are for losers, and Loma is a sore loser.

No rematch. Fight wasn't competitive, as the respected Judge Julie Lederman had it.

Anyone that placed a bet on Loma should be able to sue for them withholding info that could change the outcome of the fight. This is bs, people bet on fighters that know they are at a disadvantage.

Klimas explains that Lomachenko's injury was more or less kept quiet to avoid the perception that his fighter was looking to make excuses.
Yup, this was definitely the reason. Definitely couldn't have had anything to do with tricking bettors into losing their money betting on a P4P king who secretly wasn't able and/or didn't plan on throwing any punches, after being a volume puncher almost his entire career... lol... I'm sure bettors who lost money are very appreciate of Team Lomachenko.

I'm sure they're thinking, "sure I lost all my money, but this way, Team Lomachenko waited until 3 days after the fight to make their excuse public, instead of telling the public before the fight. Totally worth it!"

Not only that. They lied to the state commission in writing on the health questionnaire (they must have ticked NO for pre-existing injuries). That's a fraud. If the injuries are true, they should at least be fined or banned from doing business in the state.

That's why they usually mention a surgeon who did the job so quick. Most of these Hollywood surgeons are crooked. They will say and write anything. I honestly think this latest excuse is bogus.

Rematch or pull a Salido and take the win and run.
