That's real talk. If you take X-Rays and MRIs of most boxers, you'll see that have some small tears to their rotator cuffs or the ligaments in their elbow. I have to keep doing stabilizing exercises for my left elbow and shoulder.

Two really impressed me and won the fight. Not sure why anyone would be opposed to a rematch of these two. They’re at the top of their division and its not like this is getting in the way of Teo fighting Ry, Haney, or Tank. Rather rematch than a bum tour.

and yes this is the exact same story pacman told when he lost to Mayweather.
I don't understand what personal issues you are talking about. I only asked you to back up your assertion. You must be projecting. But anyway, back to our story here.

I have always been puzzled by "fans" who categorize injury as an "excuse". It isn't really. It is fighter's call whether to move forward with the fight or not. You make a choice - you are responsible. But knowing how competitive fighters are, money at stake, desire to move forward with the career, hope that all will go well - its easy to underestimate the effect of an injury and overcompensate by inherent optimism so typical in a champion.

You gave me one example, but alluded to this being such a common thing that its hard to imagine why you came up with only one example. And a bad one. Because Pacman went through a surgery right after Mayweather fight. So, it seems like a legitimate injury. Injuries do effect performance. You probably have never got out from your mommy's basement, but let me explain in the terms you understand: if you twist your ankle while crawling for that last piece of XL-size pizza, you will not be able to get your butt back into your Lazy-Boy as easily as you used. It is because the physical impediment of your body has an effect on what you do and how. Do you understand this now?

Not every reason is an excuse, especially given that Loma did not David Haye-d this. Is his injury the reason he lost? I don't know, but probably not. Could it have affected his performance? Yes.

I'd love to see a rematch, not that Lopez would give him onw.

Don't be so gullible.
So your shoulder hurts, it's something you would keep entirely to yourself and tell nobody else in the world?

Lomachenko was very cautious in the first half of the contest, when Lopez built a significant lead on the scorecards. His late-round rally fell short, and Lomachenko lost his WBC, WBO and WBA titles.

He was examined Monday by Dr. Neal ElAttrache (who oversaw his operation in 2018) and was told he would need surgery that day.

Lomachenko should be able to resume training by mid-January, according to Klimas.

"When he arrived to the States to prepare for the fight, he said in the Ukraine he felt the sharp pain in his right shoulder," said Klimas, who noted that an MRI didn't reveal a significant injury to the shoulder. "We took him right away to Dr. ElAttrache to examine him."

Six weeks before the fight, Lomachenko was given an injection and alerted both the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association and the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

"We lost one week of training. We lost one week of sparring because the doctor forbid him to do much for a week after the injection," Klimas said.

Klimas added that a few weeks later, the pain flared up during a sparring session. At that juncture, Lomachenko was given another injection, and his father and trainer, Anatoly, "wanted out of the fight," Klimas said.

Vasiliy Lomachenko said he would not withdraw from the fight, and he made it clear to his team that if he dropped out, he would retire.

Although news of the injury came quickly after the loss Saturday, Klimas said: "We didn't want to look like we were looking for excuses or something."

When Lomachenko heals, Klimas said he wants a chance to get the belts back.

"If it's possible, we would like to have the rematch," Klimas said. "If they are so tough ... are they willing to come back and do that?"

Doesn't sound like Vasyls head is in the game anymore if he was contemplating retirement before the fight even happened.

Loma doesn't deserve a rematch he bottled it and that's on him he started too late shoulder injury or not it's not Teo's fault he showed up to fight.

Everybody forgets for over a year Lopez has said he was moving up and Lomachenko and them kept stalling the fight then corona came so yeah Teo has outgrown the division before this fight happened people said Lopez was going to use the weight cut as an excuse when he lost well no excuses coming from him now.

Shoulder surgery or not, Loma just did not start actual fighting until the second half of the fight. I have never understood this from some fighters. Loma usually starts cooking by the 3rd round which is bad enough, but this time it was the 7th? What in the hell was his corner thinking?

It could be the Layoff or Injury played a roll, but he still took the fight. He could have backed out and planned it for another time. He took the fight and took the L. It is all on him.
