People who watch boxing don't give a crap about Alabama and Georgia. Different demographics, the people who watch Alabama and Georgia are Trump supporters who also watch UFC and out there wearing their Ed Hardy jeans and outfits. Also that game was on regular ABC, out this fight on ABC it does double the ratings it got.

Hopefully people stuck around for the second half. That first half was terribly disappointing .

When ESPN promotes a fight like this, it brings in the general sports fan demo. And yes, a top 3 college football matchup with brand names like Alabama and Georgia is a major draw for general sports fans across the US. Alabama-Georgia was the highest rated non-NFL sporting event on TV since the pandemic started (more than any NBA Finals game). You have to be clueless think there's no overlap in potential viewership between a sporting event that popular and a boxing match promoted as heavily as Loma-Lopez.

LOL. It was No. 2 vs. No. 3, two of the top contenders in the sport going head to head in prime time.

That has nothing to do with political affiliation. And I was on a call Monday with five people who ALL watched both the football game and the fight. Had they had to choose, most of them (myself included) would have watched the football game live.

Yes, putting it later helped the viewership without a doubt.

Those numbers blew my just under a mil prediction thru the roof what has boxing promoters been doing sitting around on their asses most of the pandemic? If they threw these type of fights during the summer would of been even bigger views.

I'm glad boxing fans supported. Neither fighter has a massive fan base but the fight was good enough that it should've generated high viewership. Probably would've done better if the main event didn't start at around midnight in the east coast. ESPN boxing events start too late on the east coast and likely costs them views.
