He already beat the best at LW and the rest of the crowd are young guys on the rise. How would Teofimo beating the best at SLW not be superior to him beating a LW contender in Garcia or Haney? Don't even try to say Haney is a world champion because he was gifted that title.
You people never cease to amaze me with the ignorance and lack of education or understanding of the pro game to think Lopez beating Haney or Garcia beats him stepping up a weight class to fight actual champions at a heavier weight. It's more of a challenge and it would prove a hell of a lot more if Lopez becomes a two weight world champion as opposed to defending against contenders that he would be a favorite against.
He had a hell of a night, but it’s something special to show that longevity and consistency. Which I believe he is capable of.
Don’t ever refer to me as “you people” again.
I’ve got my opinion which is obviously different to yours.
I don’t care about flying up through weight classes as quick as possible and racking up two/three/ four or more weight division “championships”.
I saw enough of that with Adrian broner, and if I’m not mistaken he’s referred to as a 4 weight class world champion, so yeah you can see it’s lost it’s appeal.
IF he can make lightweight. Then I’d like to see him actually fight there, and prove that he’s not just one win and done unified champion at the division.
