How Good Is Loma on the Backfoot

Is he any good on the backfoot.

I was expecting much more versatility out of a master technician

or is Teo just that damn good

He can’t fight going backwards. Been saying it for ages in threads talking about versatile fighters.

People talk about complete fighters and I’ve said there’s not really many that can fight going backwards and forwards, etc.. and Loma is one of them.

He has one style that he perfected and made it very successful and effective but has now shown he can’t really adapt and take a different approach when he isn’t getting it all his own way and unable to use his usual style

Tyson Fury on the other hand has beaten 2 long reigning champs and fought them in completely different ways but just as effective. That’s what you call elite and complete fighters. I believe Crawford could beat guys many ways. Floyd could adapt in different ways if something wasn’t working. Those guys don’t rely on one style and look out of answers if it’s not working.

      yeah bro

Most “runners” will shoot and run at the same time like basketball when they on the backfoot

But all Loma did in the 1st half was demonstrate his footwork and defense

Teo rattled Lomas brains with power, speed & INCREDIBLE timing. That will make anyone not normal.

Lopez said before the fight you have to make him go backwards and he can’t fight and he was totally correct.

Easier said than done obviously but Lopez was good enough to do it and actually made it very simple, he just stick to the basics and took centre ring. And was sharp and dangerous if he needed to be.

That’s what was so impressive really. They didn’t buy into all the razzle dazzle and the angles or anything, that’s what gets fighters beat before the fight. they just highlighted one major weakness and kept focused on that and sometimes that’s all you need to do, and if the opponent can’t really adapt then keep doing it

yeah he did exactly what he said he would do, well without the hurt part that is but that was partly down to loma not engaging as much as he needed to to win the fight

loma claiming he won the fight is a bit like pac claiming he won the floyd fight

Lomachenko is great off the back foot.

Typical casuals, throwing terms around they don't even understand lol.

Boxing off the back foot doesn't mean you're on your bicycle, it means you're boxing with weight on your back foot and you can either slip, roll and step, pivot, or step back quickly but you can also land with both hands from the shifted position.

Christ, the things I read while hunting for alts and trolls around NSB to ban. Keep it together wraps, keep it together....
