How did you score round 2 (Loma vs Lopez)

Very easy round to score, Loma landed 1 left in the middle of the round and then a 3 punch combo in the last 10 seconds, he did zilch the rest of the round and got controlled and Lopez landed 7 of 14 power punches and 4 jabs while controlling the whole round.Comment

That was a big thing in that fight... You would hear ESPN guys cheering a flurry from Lopez, than watched the replay in between rounds and find out most of them just hit leather... Just like that "big uppercut" that never happened and simply just missed...

Their landed punches was similar except Lomachenko clearly landed the better punches.
You can give Lopez this rd if you are scoring shots you are clearly not seeing landing. I saw Lomachenko land 5 here, obvious for everyone to see. Lopez I’m giving him credit for a right hand to the head, a right hand I didn't see (but saw a red mark on Lomachenko’s body), and a skimming left hook. 3 punches. Count a sloppy left hook and maybe an uppercut to the body somewhere that looked it could have been blocked by Loma’s or landed, but no one will ever know, because you can’t see it and we got 5-5. Except Lomachenko landed the clearly better, clear, for everyone to see, punches. Where are the numbers favoring Lopez? He didn’t land a single jab from what I saw. Anyway, it’s not so much about counting punches like the amateur system, more about damage. I thought Lomachenko got Lopez really good, and Lopez was not effective enough in the rd to overcome that. But if you want to count, their numbers were or thereabouts equal.

This was a shot that did nothing? It was the most effective shot of the round by miles, and the type of shot that after a few no one should be surprised when you get put to sleep.Last edited by SplitSecond; 10-20-2020, 03:16 PM.Comment
