Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I Want To Steamroll Through Pulev, Fight Fury!

IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is very eager to get in the ring with WBC champion Tyson Fury in 2021. There appears to be some issues with the trilogy fight between Fury and Deontay Wilder.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of AJ comes out against Pulev after his transformative experience if you like against Ruiz Jr, where he had to abandon his come forward power punching style and revert to stick and move on the toes boxing.

What style has Joshua now settled into if any? Some fighters, like Joe Parker, seem to vacillate between being a boxer puncher to a boxer, which doesn't typically work out well for those HW's who are known to have concussive power, and are convinced by certain trainers to take the safety first style similar to Wlad Klitschko who became a saftey first jab and grab HW.

I estimate A.J being smart enough to employ whatever style suits him to beat an opponent- and Pulev might be a tough old Bulgarian with a 50% KO percentage but he has fought some real quality opposition including Wlad, Samuel Peter, Chisora, Hugie fury and Kevin Johnson.

Only I KO loss to Wlad in the middle rounds which is no disgrace. Although 39, A.J needs to focus less on Fury and more on whats in front of him - it's that exact same attitude that seemingly bought him undone against Ruiz Jr,

Aj delivers a truck load more cringe worthy metaphors to try and sound intelligent. Can't stand his awful fake commentary.

        Hope Pulev chins him

Well he needs an impressive performance against Pulev, boxing fans are very fickle, and also somewhat easily impressed, of he puts an early, brutal KO on Pulev he will win a fair number of people back around, belive me they are that fickle.

He needs it for his own development too, **** happens, he got countered being wreck less against Ruiz but that doesn't mean he needs to become a negative fighter, it just means tighten up your D and fight a little more sensible.

Good post & agree. I think AJ has changed his style post-Wlad & now maybe again post-Ruiz. What AJ is fighting Pulev & does the Ruiz rematch AJ got much of a chance outboxing Fury?

And definitely agree AJ needs to focus on what's in front of him. I feel like Pulev has been an afterthought since day 1, but it seems like he's even taken lower status as of late. That said Pulev seems a lil too Frankenstein-ish to upset AJ to me so overlooking him likely won't matter unless AJ completely sh^ts the bed.

if aj fights pulev the way he fought ruiz in the 2nd fight he is headed for another devastating KO loss if he fights pulev the way he fought ruiz in the 1st fight he won't make it out of round 3

So basically Pulev beats him no matter what he does? You don’t happen to live in London do you? As I would gladly meet you and give you an arse whooping if you don’t box of course

Pulev is a good fighter so I'm sure it will go into later rounds. With Josh winning of course
