I didn’t watch him closely tbh

He’s a very 2-dimensional fighter and needs to get into an obvious rhythm

It takes a smart fighter to school Rigo so hard that he quits
dont believe the media hype or lomo nuthuggers.

he is just a spoiler that only looks good when bullying small or bad fighters.

I understand the method of the training techniques, coordination etc.. but I think there is no better practice than actually boxing. A concert pianist isn’t juggling their music score and riding around the piano on a unicycle, they are sat at the piano practising because that’s what matters.
I think that can be said about styles as well. Lomachenko is a very good fighter, but the flashiness and uniqueness of his style is what caused people to elevate him from a really good fighter to this ATG of the likes we have never seen. Stylistically, Loma does have a WOW factor, but that can be taken away by a talented well trained fighter.

All you hear about Loma is "OMG look at those angles. angles, angles, angles." When he was in with a fighter athletic enough to step around with him, those "angles' everyone's always talking about weren't as effective.

exactly. And I say that to anyone impressed by pad work that looks flashy. Those pads aren't trying to take your head off or break your rib cage. The best way to be the best is to actually fight and spar with great competition. Bringing in sparring partners to lay down, hitting tennis balls, flashy pad work, and being on IG every other day means absolutely nothing when you're in the ring with a guy trying to kill you and you haven't properly prepared for him. You train as you fight. Fighting is supposed to be the easy part, it's the training that's the hard part.

I used to say similar about Manny, although I rate Manny much higher and is one of the greats.

But I mean people always said Manny would beat Floyd and other fighters because of the angles used to throw combinations from, like Floyd was going to stand flat-footed and let him move where he wants, same as JMM never let him. Take away those angles and he was a far less effective fighter.

For me there is no substitute for intelligent footwork and positioning and you don’t need to look dazzling to have those things. I thought Lopez was very impressive last night in these aspects.

He was not smart for this fight. You don't have your fighter retreat and throw almost no punches for the first 7 rounds if you want your fighter to win the fight. Loma did very well in 4 of the last 5 rounds but he was 7 rounds behind by then.

                    Yep.

Not going to say I know more about boxing then any trainer of course but it seems like basic logic to be.

You don’t need to be doing hard sparring every day in gym ward, that’d be ******, but I think it’d be far more beneficial for boxers to be even doing light tippy tap sparring with a guy infront of you, being able to actually work on things, building up muscle memory etc. rather than firing beach balls out of their arse or other circus tricks.

How is Usyk a cherry picker when he fought all the champions and unified cruiserweight? If Usyk is a cherry picker then every pro boxer fighting now must also be a cherry picker. In just 700 posts you have shown yourself to be a ridiculous hater of all eastern European boxers. You have some much hate for them all your head might explode.
