Amateur boxing is only 3 rounds. Theres no way you can be 396-1 starting so slow. And yet Lomachenko waited til the 8th round to do anything.
He looked like Josh "Pretty Boy" Kelly sitting in front of his opponent feinting with no follow up.

Easy, he was stunned by the power of that right hand in round one. Rewatch it and look at his facial expression when Teo landed it. He was also probably not expecting for Teofimo to be that fast with his feet and didn’t want to get caught early. Either the urgency kicked in or he felt that Teo’s punches lost a bit of steam in the middle rounds, so he picked it up. He still seemed bothered by the power, but it was more manageable as the fight progressed.

Loma doesn't like to get hit, he felt Lopez' power in the opening round and turned into Broner.

That’s a very good question, but as mentioned in the first minute of the first round Loma is generally a slow start because he is downloading information about his opponents. His style isn’t amateurish anymore where his stamina doesn’t need to be paced for a three round fight. Especially last night where is opposition is a power puncher who is always stronger early on in fights.
