Plus it should be understood by now that fighters from poor/lowerclass backrounds tend to be more successful than their counter parts. Its why blacks from the inner cities and mexicans have dominated boxing for so long. The hunger and will to succeed for these cats is second to none.

Of course with that said, I have no idea what kind of background loma comes from though, but I doubt he came from similar circumstances to Pac who was like selling packs of cigarettes on dirt roads as a youth iirc

The real answer is Pacquiao usually wouldn't risk taking on a larger fighter without a significant catchweight. I've been hard on Loma but I give him props for not making a guy come down 7 pounds.
