Manny got by on volume punching and heart, that's it. It can get you places, look at Wilder.
You deserve a slap for comparing Manny to Wilder

Loma-Greatest Amateur of all time, 396-1, Olympic/WC Golds.
Pacquiao- No Amateur experience, started with no real trainer, poor nutrition, etc.

Loma- 5ft7, talented boxer/athlete since childhood
Pacquiao- 5ft5, admits having “no talent” as a boxer

Loma-Textbook skills, defense, footwork, accuracy, ring IQ, etc.
Pacquiao- Crude slugger for most of his career, went through bloody wars and got hit/rocked often.

      And Yet......

Pacquiao manages to go through division after division, win countless fights as an underdog, beat bigger fighters and legends, give us performances of a lifetime, and last year at age 40 beat a young lion in spectacular fashion.

Loma however seems to have hit his ceiling at 135lbs. Loses to a 23 year old with 15 fights after giving away the first 6 rounds.

So my question is: What does Manny Pacquiao have, that Lomachenko doesn't?
Pacquiao is not scared to get hit, and has more power and better timing, loma is a Ukrainian ballet dancer with cat like reflexes but doesn't like throwing unless he is sure he wont get hit.

Pacquiao can fight outside, has straight punches before jumping out which allows him to fight without having to go inside and match muscles with bigger men. Same with Mayweather. These guys can pick at bigger men. Lomachenko does his work inside, he has to step inside to do his work. Have been saying this for ages. I also said he was tailor made for Lopez and that people would take him dropping the early rounds to Lopez as Lopez out-boxing him, when that’s not the case at all. But didn’t expect him to take till the 6th rd to start trying to pressure (and it took another 2 rd’s before he’d applied enough to get close enough to Lopez to start working).

I’m seeing a pattern though. Golovkin let me down similarly vs Jacobs. These guy’s are very wary of puncher’s.

The better question is, what does Loachenko do better? One could say defense but then I doubt GRJ, Linares or Lopez would have landed that many shots on Pacquiao, especially not as many as they did against Loma. What people dont seem to realize is that when Pacquaio got touched a lot it was against legitimately great fighters in Morales and Marquez.

Raw power in both hands and a set of juevos to match.

Manny was a bigger guy... With massive calf's and bone structure.

Plus he had a massive left hand. His punching power allowed him to compete at higher weights.

Loma never been know for his punching power.
Loma has to rely 100% on his skills
