I don't think it was close enough to warrant an immediate rematch, but if Loma wins a fight or two I don't see why he couldn't be in line for a rematch a year or so from now.

That said idk that it matters. Loma had surprisingly few answers for Teo. I had him losing the first 6 rounds ffs. I think Loma loses 10 outta 10 times from here out.

Funny how that seems to happen with top rank so often

Why wouldn't Lopez fans want to see it again? If he dominated so much and was in such control, let them fight again and he should surely get the KO which they would love to see.

Anyone who likes Lopez who is saying 'haha let's move along' is acknowledging it was a tight fight and they are worried about running it back

There's just bigger fish to fry for Lopez tbh, at 23 he was just a kid going into that fight but he would have learned so much in there and will be a way better fighter for it.

Loma only had success because due to Teo being inexperienced and young he wasn't the best at pacing himself, this gave loma a few openings where he had some limited success. I think in a rematch he'd have no success.

On the other hand you have a 32 year old ukrainian who just recently started to speak some english, and has never been a big draw outside of boxing's hardcore fanbase. The decision to make lopez top ranks new cash cow was made well in advance, and loma did himself no favors by giving the guy the first half of the fight.
You saw the writing on the wall with the scorecards, and then remembering Arum the snake saying - 'no rematch clause'

Loma lost but man the politics of boxing are awful

Ok then.......Loma was there throwing punches and winning those exchanges. So nothing was taken away. More like GIVEN.

Any fight that’s close enough to be scored a draw needs a rematch

They should do it soon. By the end of next year for sure

This fight has no rematch clause because Loma refused it!

And Lopez effectively killed the rematch in the post-fight presscon!
