loma got beat up to the body tonight.
I think once per round I was worried for Teo in 8-11. Worried if he would make it to the round and if Loma found his angles that he likes. His head was starting to bounce with every shot Loma landed, meaning his legs were fading or he wasn't see the shots. Maybe both. But yeah it was a race against time for Loma in those last rounds.

Loma is a pro so he knows how to hide being hurt well. I do remember him clinching at least once after a body shot late. But I was more worried about Teo getting stopped than Loma. Loma ate some good shots late too though.

Yeah I think he was waiting for Lopez's power to wane a bit, and even early caught a few good shots. In the later rounds Loma felt more comfortable in range because 1) he knew he had to get in range to have a chance to win/stop Teo 2) Lopez's power was waning a bit as any fighter's would late; 3) Loma was a little more comfortable against him at that time.

But I was definitely more worried about Teo getting stopped late than Loma. Loma was taking those shots at the end pretty well. Great fight though and Teo fought back well too.

I know it's early and people are still processing the fact Loma lost, but he did lose, and deservingly so. He also expressed he thought he won. After explaining he didn't agree with the scores the interviewer explicitly asked him if he thought he won and he said yes, but that he respected/ accepted the decision.

People need to learn acceptance and take pride in being objective. I can already see the narrative saying "Loma won a quiet and overlooked round or two in the first half of the fight, sweeped all the rds from the 7th to the 11th and the 12 rd was a toss up..." Let's be fair and give credit to Lopez for winning and celebrate what a great and accomplished fighter Lomachenko is.

I personally think it's amazing he accomplished so much at 135 given the size disadvantages he has in the weightclass. Let's see what happens next.

          119 -109 and 117-111 is a ****ing joke dude

Also, 119-109 is fair as **** for a man who doesn't throw punches.

Loma the Slavic Broner lol, you don't win when you throw less than 10 punches per round.

If he stepped on the gas sooner, Lopez would have stopped him IMO.

it's not like Loma was dominating the later rounds when he actually tried to engage, he was getting popped by Lopez when he opened up. If he tried that the whole fight, he would've been KO'd. Loma has no power to give bigger guys any worries.

Kind of like Hagler vs. Leonard. What were Lomachenko and Hagler thinking giving away the first half of the fight?

I was rooting for Loma, and I thought a draw was the best outcome; but for him to say he won is a little sad. It was a close fight, and if there had to be a winner, then Lopez was the better candidate.
