Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez Shocks Lomachenko in Style, Wins Decision To Unify 135

WBO/WBA/WBC Franchise world champion Vasiliy “Loma” Lomachenko, the pound-for-pound “Boxing Baryshnikov” from Ukraine, will fight unbeaten IBF world champion Teofimo Lopez, the knockout artist from Brooklyn who has lobbed verbal haymakers at Lomachenko for more than two years. The two will fight from the MGM Grand Conference Center aka the “Las Vegas Bubble.”

“Lomachenko-Lopez is the best fight that can be made in boxing, and we are delighted that it will be available to fans for no extra charge live on ESPN,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. “Teofimo and Vasiliy demanded the fight, and we are glad we could make it happen. Vasiliy has never backed down from a challenge since he turned pro under the Top Rank banner, and Teofimo is a fearless young champion daring to be great. This has all the makings of a modern boxing classic.”

I think Lopez knocks Loma out. I really want Lomachenko to take the kid to school but I dont think he will at 135, plus the kid is too explosive. Should be a great fight nonetheless.

This is honestly one of the biggest moments in my life and I’m excited because it’s completely win win.

It’s one of the biggest fights in recent memory and on free ESPN.

It’s one of the most competitive fights on paper that can be made period.

It’s a genuine unified title fight. Who the fucc was Indongo?

If Lopez wins that’s huge for Lencas, Catrachos and all Central Americans.

If Loma wins it’s proof as to why he is #1 p4p and an example
Of how a fighter should act in and out of the ring.

The Honduran newspapers have blown this fight up back in Honduras. Loma knows nothing about our side if he thinks only Ukraine is hardcore. He’s out of his fuccin mind.

        Quien dijo miedo!

        War Lenca!

        War Lopez!

        War Boxing!

Torn between going to bed early and setting my alarm or just trying to plough on through to the morning...

knowing my luck it'll be the latter and then I'll wake up with my cheek stuck to the coffee table in a pool of my own drool 10 minutes after the fight finishes...

                How about a poll??

I'm rooting for Lopez but I think Loma stops him late.

I'm 8 hours ahead of Vegas time, man. Ring walks are probably going to be 4.30am or so here.... and I'm not as young as I was. Few years ago I might have hit some powder but those days are long gone. I probably should try to get some shuteye first but I don't usually go to bed til 1 or so anyways.

Certainly wouldn't be the first time I've fallen asleep waiting for a main event but Ima prop my eyes open for this one I reckon..
