the Liston Ali.
Here's the main reason why Ali is the Greatest. When he was young he was invincible but so is Mike Tyson, Lennox et al but ali did it againts a very very tough opposition.
But the main difference is ALI's performance when he was older. he kayoed a young foreman and beat a tyson like puncher in Ernie Shavers.
Just imagine FOreman and Liston are 73-1 when ALI ( Young and Old) totally destroyed them. thats 2 version of Ali. i dont think any fighter has accomplished anything close to that.

Based on what fight or fights leads you to the conclusion that he was "invinciable" in his early mid 20's?Originally posted by miron_langthe Liston Ali.

He was undefeated up to 29 yrs OLD. and the loss to Frazier was not without valid reason that ali doest have control of. and that fight was very clse ( fight of the year )Originally posted by McKayBased on what fight or fights leads you to the conclusion that he was "invinciable" in his early mid 20's?Comment

Alot of guys you've never heard of are undefeated up to 29 years old.Originally posted by miron_langHe was undefeated up to 29 yrs OLD. and the loss to Frazier was not without valid reason that ali doest have control of. and that fight was very clse ( fight of the year )
Secondly Frazier Ali was not a close fight, it was a good fight, Ali put on a good show, he landed some good shots, he was extremely game, more game in my opinion than he had ever been to that point in his career. Ultimately however it was the worst beatdown he ever suffered as a professonal fighter.
I give respect to Ali in that fight for taking his beat down like a man and also for lasting until the final bell. I respect Ali more in that fight than any other.Comment
