Did you see pep?

I never saw him personally, but saw them on film which they were actually fighting. Along with lots of Robinson, Fullmer, Basilio, Harold Johnson, Archie Moore, Durelle, The Joey Maxim-Robinson fight where Robinson collapsed from heat prostration. This was for the 175 lb title. After the fight Robinson was 147, lost 10 lbs in the fight. Too Sharp Johnson, Little Stevie Johnson. I saw he fight where Lil Stevie won back his title and the judge found and error , making it a draw, and Stevie had to give the belt back to .Castillo Ortega, Emil Griffith. I saw the fight where Benny Paret was killed, the ref was at fault there. Paret was cornered and suffered loads of punches which would have put him down long before, but Griffith and the ropes kept him up. Griffith was a ladies' hat maker. I saw Benvenuti KO Luis Rodriguez when Luiz had it all but won. **** Tiger, Roy jones at his peak. Everything in boxing that was going on I saw at the time of happening. In the early days we only had "rabbit ears on the TV and the quality was baaad. More snow and static than picture , but I would still watch. I saw Robinson -Graziano fight, Locche, Flash Elorde, 3 fights with Carlos Ortix, and ,,.......and.....and saw esteban de jesus beat Duran, and Duranbeat De Jesus straignt away back .Terrific fights.

They are just a fraction of the fights I saw. I have about 35-40 2 hr tapes all full of boxing.
I saw a slugfest every time Julian Letterlough fought. David Izon, King Arthur Williams, Saw Mesi beat Jirov when Mesi tottering. Never fought again. Got brain damage. I saw every fight big or small that was on YV. Marciano, Joe Louis, Charles, Frank Bruno and, of course TYSON. Holyfirld and etc.

Until I wrote this just now, I didn't realise just how many of the greats and others I actually saw.

I' hate to tell you what I HEARD on radio BEFORE I came to Canada and saw TV for the first time.....?????

I was around when Pep was boxing, and I read papers and sporting news, was getting Ring Magazine, and Boxing Illustrated from it's very first issue. I got them, as well as seeing him fight on film and many more than I would bother to say, at the very time of the fights.. I don't claim any more than that. I'm not trying to impress anyone, that's for kids.

Thank you. Many disbelieve everything anyone says, thus showing their own insecurity. When we become grown up, it should vanish, but for so many it never does.
