Comments Thread For: Teofimo Lopez Has Been in The Backseat But He's Arrived, Says Gamache

By Tris Dixon - Fight fans have waited long enough but one of the best matches that can be made in boxing will take place when Vasiliy meets Teofimo Lopez in a Las Vegas bubble. The eyes of the boxing world will be on Brooklyn-born Lopez and Ukrainian superstar Lomachenko as they meet for the WBA, IBF and WBO lightweight titles. And in Lopez's corner, alongside...

One thing I'll say for Joey, he has nerve, mentioning Lopez on th same page as Duran. . And then bringing Willie Pep into it for Lomachenko. Joey wasn't born until 6 years after Pep retired, so he never saw him. And they have completely different styles anyway.

I think about that court case that Joey made against the Commission alleging that he suffered brain damage in his fight against Gatti from the Commission's negligence. I actually feel that Joey should have won damages. The judge decreed that the Commission WAS negligent, but there was no evidence that the negligence contributed to the brain damage.

That's a lot of dribble. Gatti was over 160 lbs for the fight, and THAT certainly contributed to any brain damage that Joey suffered. AND, the judge allowed that the Commission WAS negligent. If it was not over Gatti's weight what were they negligent about. That judge must have had brain damage himself.

teo is a great young fighter. no shame getting completely outclassed by an ATG like lomachenko. he'll bounce back from this defeat.

Loma has fought, and beat GRJ and Rigo. Joey seems to have forgotten that... Aftermath of his last KO defeat against Gatti?

Joey Gamache knows. Joey Gamache has been around the sport a long time and is not known for shilling or BSing. He profoundly knows how good Lopez is, upset very possible here.

Gamache simply believes that size will be enough because that's his only experience and point of reference.

Gamache was a better boxer than Gatti and he got KOed but Lopez is not Gatti and Gamache isn't in the vicinity of Lomachenko.

Loma will make Lopez miss and if Lopez Sr gives his son BS instructions (As I expect) and he doesn't have a plan B & C... all the rounds from 6-12 will get increasingly expensive.

Loma by UD while confusing and peppering Lopez in a clinic that becomes a "How to" boxing 101 for future generations.
