Comments Thread For: Lomachenko: I Only Want To Improve Who I Am And My Legacy

Even for someone who demanded to fight for a world title in his pro debut, Vasiliy Lomachenko has still managed to surpass the expectations set forth by those who guide his career. The three-division and reigning unified lightweight titlist continues aims to become undisputed champion, as he faces unbeaten Teofimo Lopez this weekend. Their highly anticipated clash-which airs live on ESPN this Saturday from The Bubble at MGM Grand in Las Vegas-will determine lightweight supremacy.

What I don’t understand in all this is of all the champions Loma has fought why do they rate Lopez as this caliber of a fighter that’s a serious threat? The media is just hyping Lopez to be something he is not.

They simply don't like the guy. If you don't like someone, you will not see things clear in regards to their skills.

I see. I hope Loma wins. I just cannot imagine listening to Senior and Junior for 10 more years. Its like listening to Danny Garcia's dad all over - at least Danny doesn't yap and act like the next Roberto Duran

I agree. I can see this fight playing out in only a couple of different ways: either Lopez will be big and strong enough to hurt Loma and stop him in a shocking upset, or Loma will box circles around Lopez and make him quit in the second half of the fight.

I really believe there is a chance Lopez will quit. If you recall his reaction after the Nakatani fight, threatening to quit boxing etc. just because of the public criticism for his performance...I just don't know if he's capable of handling losing. We shall see.
