Good things! I'm glad to see this guy helping keep these kids out of trouble. We could see some real champions come out of this...

Those are the kindsa dudes who I see as the real good guys... guys that give the skills they got and their time to help their community. You wait for the government to sort things out you gonna be waiting a long damn time, specially in somewhere like Naples in the poor south of Italy.

      Damn...

Probably worthy of a thread in itself, but Youtube fed this to me after I watched that one, crazy as ****, kids in a small neighbourhood of Accra, Ghana... the district that gave us Clottey and Nelson and more.

Surely there must be other choices for a young Italian boy than boxing or the mafia.

Southern Italy, Naples in particular ain't necessarily bursting with opportunity, man. Vast bulk of Italys wealth and opportunity is in the North and in the more agrarian Southern regions it's very heavily concentrated in the hands of a relatively small political, landholding and business elite. You want to get anywhere as a regular dude it's either the bloated civil service, the mafia or migrate North I think.
