    08-10 Pacquiao vs 18-20 Pacquiao?

i always said pac's best was during 2008-2010, but this current version of manny (2018-2020) is A LOT more smarter, more patient, added a lot more to his game, he traded volume punching 100+ per rounds to now being a more better counter puncher by throwing less. If the older version fought the new version, who wins and why?

It’s like comparing PBF to Money, which I always found interesting.

You gotta go with the younger, busier version of a fighter because work rate (more often than not) trumps ring generalship

that's not always true... the younger version is a lot more inexperience. the reasoning behind this thread is i came upon an interview with lebron james, comparing his younger day in the nba to the current version now and lebron's answer to that is the current version will beat the younger version.

Absolutely no contest. The 30 year old Pacquiao was much better than today's 41 year old Pacquiao and that would always be true of any boxer. No boxer is ageless or is better at 41 than he was at 30. Pac is still very good but the Pac that slaughtered Hatton and Cotto was a monster. The old Pac KOs the new Pac because the old Pac was better in every way. he stopped guys. He didn't beat them by close decisions.

i think the younger version. there's a lot of things to consider like hungriness, work rate, speed and explosiveness. so yeah the younger version. since there's nothing left to prove in his legacy the work rate is lessen.
