Isn't that true? You'll never hear that from me, tho. If you are a 'champion' at the weight, you are a fair game to all.
This would be a good win for Loma in a normal situation, but not when you argue he's 'great' or 'once in a generation' boxer. Then no. I'd consider it an OK win against a kid with a prospect record.
Who does Loma have to beat at 135lbs, for you to be impressed?
It's not like Loma has turned anybody down. Ever.Comment

Either way, the fight wasn't won by the size difference, or at most it was only a part of the equation. Loma outskilled Rigo.
I agree that it was a good win, not great win, because you can't ignore size differences. But if you watched the fight, you wouldn't be able to point at any way that size actually helped Loma win.
Like Loma said: "This is not his weight, so it's not a big win for me."
And Rigo said: "The weight was not a factor in this fight."
Which sums it up neatly. You automatically take into account that there was a weight difference, and have to adjust the accomplishment accordingly. But you would be hard pressed to say how it affected that particular fight.
The only obvious difference between the two was in skill.Comment

He has a million excuses for why he hates on Loma constantly. But it all stems from the fact that Loma is the man around that weight class, and Davis is still in Loma's shadow.
You can't reason with that kind of thing. It is based on some weird female emotions. There is a simmering resentment throughout all of his posts, which is why he is considered one of the worst posters on this site.
Assuming that I am using the right pronoun. It wouldn't be much surprise to find out that 'he' is 'she'.Comment

The bigger man had more skills. Or it was a horrible stylistic mismatch which meant his skills dominated.

The size difference made the perceived gap in skill seem larger than it really is.
Lastly, you can't have a guy add 10 pounds to his usually performance weight and expect peak performance in his first fight with the weight. These aren't excuses, they are just realities that have to be factored in when gauging the level of the win.Comment
